Abstract

This article discusses the historical roots of Sufism and futuwwa (chivalry/brotherhood), noting that these two concepts were intertwined, particularly during the time of  Abraham (peace be upon him), considered the ancestor of the prophets. The fact that  Abraham, the first prophet to widely propagate Islam, earned the title "Abu al-Fityan" (Father of Chivalry) within the futuwwa tradition thanks to his courage and generosity, demonstrates the high regard these concepts held among the people since pre-Christian times. The life of Prophet Abraham , who spent his youth in the mountains and in solitude, and his old age in the deserts, is a direct reflection of Sufism. The actions of Abraham and Prophet Ishmael (peace be upon them), who rebuilt the Kaaba at the command of Almighty God, strengthened the fundamental principles of Islam. However, the divine revelation revealed to them that even more virtuous than this is feeding the hungry or clothing the naked, which is the essence of the concept of futuwwa . The fact that  Abraham established a guesthouse and began offering food to the people demonstrates that he not only fulfilled the fundamental principles of Islam but was also a man of futuwwa. The emphasis placed on the exaltation of the "Kaaba of the heart" in the poems and prose works written by Sufi representatives shows that Sufism reached a high level in the Central Asian geography. Islam and Sufism, which are among the important issues in Uzbek literature,  the life of  Abraham. According to these narrations, the great tower built by Nimrod to watch Abraham being thrown into the fire, namely the Tower of Babel, is considered the element that caused the spread of world languages. Considering this view,  Abraham ... It can be said that Abrahamis considered one of the prophets who facilitated the spread of world languages.
